The verdict is in, and my American Amber is found GUILTY
of being a very good beer!
Ok, so it’s still quite green, and it won’t win any awards, but it is tasty, drinkable, smooth and well balanced. I’ll give it another week at room temperature and then move it to the refrigerator to clear up. From what I can tell, it should be a pretty darn clean looking brew with the chill haze dropped out. I’m thinking a gold-tinted light reddish brown color. The carbonation is pretty good already. I’ll have no problems with it if it doesn’t carb any more. The flavors start out with some caramel, a little bread and some nuts and the hops follow up and balance things out with a bit of pine and citrus. It finishes with a touch of refreshing bitterness that doesn’t linger long.
Overall, I’m quite pleased. I’ll post a photo and the recipe once it finishes and clears up in a couple weeks. It’s not an award winner, but it is a success.

Sounds good, man.
Happy brewing,
