Breeders Cup

Alright, I guess I have another pot of cash to put towards a kegging system - my horse racing winnings.  Ha!  If there’s anything left.

A few years ago I really got into the ponies.  I’ve got a few friends who are big fans of racing to the point of owning race horses from time-to-time.  I learned a ton about handicapping the races and got to where I could break even betting winners.  That’s no small task considering the vig is so huge in racing.  It’s a very tough game to beat - much more difficult than poker where there are so many people who have no clue.  By properly handicapping and selectively betting horses that are sufficiently undervalued by the public, it is possible, but extremely difficult.  It’s quite a grind.

Anyway, as I don’t consider myself a gambler, betting on horses got old after a while.  If I can’t win, I see no point in playing.  I still have always turned on TVG just to watch because I really do like watching the races, but I rarely bet any more.

The Breeders Cup is a tough day to pass up though.  I deposited a few bucks into my account at youbet.com and made a Saturday of it.  They have made a 10 cent superfecta bet available now, and I managed to hit my first one on the colt juvi race for about $300 profit.

Ah, I can taste the draft brew now!  Unfortunately, instead of withdrawing my winnings, I’ll probably slowly use them up placing exotic wagers on horse races on weekends when I have the time.  However, if I happen to get lucky and keep up the good work, I’ll use the money.
