Rumors of my death have been largely exaggerated….
…but it felt like they weren’t far from truth at times. I seem to have ushered in an early cold and flu season, and I haven’t enjoyed it much at all. Ick!
It seems the spammers are really ramping up since I last posted. Things were getting a bit out of control in the comment boxes, so I had to subject all comments to moderation. My email is overflowing with that crap! So annoying. If anybody has a legitimate comment to make, please do so. Just know I have to check my email before they’ll get posted. I hate doing that, but I had little choice. Spammers should be executed. I hope they overdose on their generic drugs.
On a much happier note, I am now, finally, after what seems like an eternity, enjoying a homebrew. And it is good. I drank one just as I was getting sick and thought very little of it. I guess my taste buds must have been out of whack. It tastes just fine now.
Just before getting sick, I bought a few different “new to me” beers that I will be reviewing in the coming days. I’ll be a couple more days at least before I get to any reviews. I want to be able to really taste and smell the beers. I’m still a bit plugged up with the lasting effects of this cold, but I’m getting there.
Ah, and I’m enjoying the horserace handicapping. I hope to have more news and a success story to relay in a few weeks, but suffice to say, I’m having success implementing a handicapping and wagering strategy. I’m just starting “phase 2″ right now. If this ends up where I think it could, I’ll go well beyond a kegging system with my winnings! First things first - I have to prove my strategy. That will take some more time. I’m having so much fun, though, that I’m afraid my poker skills must be rusting over. I really haven’t played since picking up the horses seriously once again.
Well, I hope you have all been enjoying more beer than I have lately. I’m sorry so many of you have logged on several days without anything new to read. Thanks for checking in, and I should have more beers to suggest soon!
