Brew Review - Full Sail Amber

Hello again, and welcome back to my blog. Tonight I bring you my review of Full Sail Amber.Full Sail Brewing is an Oregon brewery that’s been crafting their brews since 1987. According to their site, they offer three “core” beers, of which the Amber is one, and four “other” beers. One or two of their “others” seem to be rotations, so who knows how many you could actually taste? One thing is for sure, after giving the Amber a shot, I’ll be hunting down as many of them as I can find! So, the Amber. How did it do?

Appearance: Well, see for yourself. Isn’t it pretty? This is what an Amber should look like. The rich amber color is classic, and the light tan head tops things off nicely.

Smell: I noted a rich malty scent with floral hops behind. Very nice nose on this one.

Taste: Toasted grains jump right up front along with some chocolate. A nice blending hops - a little fruity and slightly bitter - follows, and it finishes sweet more than bitter. Very nice.

Mouth Feel: Nice carbonation - I got a slight “bite”, but it was pleasant, not fizzy. For my taste, this is perfect. The beer feels a little thin, but the flavor stays true all the way down.

Overall: Nice rich flavors and well balanced all around. The hops balances and compliments the malts nicely. A sweet flavor finishes things off very well. This one is a definite keeper. It packs more flavor than some, so it probably is not for the newly minted aluminum can convert. But for anybody who enjoys flavor in their beer, this one is a can’t miss. Enjoy this one.
