Brew Review - Farmhouse Oasthouse IPA
Tonight I bring you yet another IPA, this one from just down the road in Gilroy, CA - Oasthouse IPA from Farmhouse Brewing Company:

On to the beer. How’s the Oasthouse IPA?
The nose is hoppy, with citrus and especially pine dominating the caramel malt that sneaks in there.
The beer pours a clear light amber color. A sticky little off-white head lingers for quite some time. It’s a nice looking beer, I’d say.
As the color suggests, the malts play a bigger role than with some IPA’s. Up front I got some toasted grains and a decent helping of caramel. The hops set in mid-palate, but they really are not overbearing in this brew. In fact, I can taste the malts all the way through. The hops do dominate as they should, but they play nice and don’t completely steal the show from the malts. The hops are pine sap and citrus. I also got some aspirin flavor in the very late aftertaste.
This beer is fairly thick for an IPA, with a solid mouth feel and medium carbonation. At 5.7% AVB, it is quite drinkable
Overall, I’d say grab one and enjoy. It’s a good IPA.
Enjoy your beer,
